It is located in the central Chios, about 5km away from Chios Town centre. The Monument of the Missing Sailor is located in the central square of Vrontados. The stone of the teaches, Daskalopetra is located outside the harbour which is known to be the place where Homer sat when teaching his poems. The monastery of Panagia Myrsiniotissa and Agios Stephanos church are among the highlights of the village. It is where Rouketopolemos is held at Easter which is a Greek habit of throwing fireworks during the celebration and midnight before Easter Sunday.
